~ Kaitlin Knox ~
Vice President
Regional Director - Eastern Canada
Kaitlin has had a lifelong passion for training horses. She has an undergraduate degree in nutrition and a Master’s of Equine Science from the University of Edinburgh. Upon completing her undergrad, she traveled to Queensland, Australia, where she worked colts for a cutting horse breeder and learning Ray Hunt style horsemanship.
In 2013, Kaitlin purchased her dream horse, a young Kiger mare named Gem. While chatting with the man who owned Gem’s sire, he suggested that she apply for the Ray Hunt & Tom Dorrance - Legacy of Legends scholarship. She did and was awarded the opportunity to work with NRCHA world champion, Kevin Stallings. Kaitlin believes that it was through Gem that she was put on the path of horsemanship and learning that changed her life. Several years later, Gem had her first foal, and would begin Kaitlin’s dream of breeding these beautiful horses.
Kaitlin and her partner Ryan own a commercial cattle ranch and grain farm in Nova Scotia, Canada. Kaitlin runs a small Kiger breeding program, plus takes on students and horses for training. She hopes that, through being part of KHAR, she will be able to help promote this wonderful breed throughout Canada.
